While all the rage today seems to be "Shades Of Gray", when I was in my early twenties and scrapping out an apartment for the landlord, I came across an book left behind by the former occupants entitled "Astrid Cane". Set in Victorian times, the basic storyline revolved around a young woman, newly betrothed to a wealthy upper-class young man, who unbeknownst to her, has her kidnapped and sent to a former madam who now specializes in the BDSM arts. She is first taught submission, then dominance, and when her training is complete, all is revealed by her betrothed. This was my first introduction to "switching" and I'm interested to see what other forms of BDSM fiction had an impact on the members.
