This past weekend I read some VERY good lesbian love story novels. Not extoric.

"Annie on my Mind" By Nancy Garden was GOOOOOD
(It was suggested in this book that "Patenice and Sarah" by Isabel Miller is a good book too which I ordered off Amazon.ca but it takes 3 weeks)

I also read "Keeping you a Secret" by Julie Ann Peters. Also good.

I really enjoyed "Dare, Turth or Promise" by Paula Broock as well.

Ya, while the 3 targets young adults, I don't care. :)

Im trying to find other books like the 3 above so if anyone knows any, let me know :)
If you guys know of any let me know!!

Good books... seriously, you can be done with the book in hours!!! I totally recommend them especially if you like "attention keeper" books.

Tasha--

I suggest Awakening the Virgin: True Tales of Seduction by Nicole Foster. I think there's a Part II, as well. It is very candid and honest and offers a variety of themes, very adult. No doubt you can find this on Amazon or Barnes and Noble.

Hope this helps.

Tasha-

I absolutely know what you're saying. I still think that "Annie On My Mind" is one of the best lesbian novels ever, even if it is YA. It's just the sort of honest storytelling that manages to be spellbinding.

Some other ones that might sort of be in the same vein:

1) "Working Parts" by Bledsoe. One of the first non-YA lesbian books I ever read, and a shocker at that (for some reason, I didn't realize it from the cover). I just remember enjoying it quite a bit.

2) "The Flip Side" by Andrew Matthews. Not actually lesbian per se, but if you want a fun little queer book and are enjoying the teen book jag, it comes highly recommended- it's the only book I know featuring a cross-dressing protagonist.

3) "How I Paid for College: A Novel of Sex, Theft, Friendship, and Musical Theater" by Mark Acito. Once again, not a lesbian focus, but pretty much everyone gets it on- the guys, the girls, with one another, with each other. Plus, it's THE funniest book I've read in a long, long time. Comes highly recommended.

4) "Butch Is A Noun" by S. Bear Bergman. Not sure if butches are your thing ("Patience and Sarah" is butch/femme, I believe), but even if they aren't, this is just a really awesome, rocking book. Not a novel; more like a collection of essays, but they're funny, thought-provoking, maybe even controversial, and I bet you'll fall in love with the author when you read it. Definitely a good, easily readable look into the often ignored side of lesbians.

5) "The Year They Burned The Books" by Nancy Garden. Almost as good as "Annie On My Mind" . . . it's just amazing.

Hope those appeal!
